A new edition of the MIC Tournament

One more year, B1 Soccer Academy is heading to the best international tournament in Spain to be held at Easter between 4 and 9 April throughout the Costa Brava (Girona), the Mediterranean International Cup (MIC).

For the fourth year, not consecutive due to the two years of inactivity because of COVID, two B1 teams in this edition of the MIC will return to step on the fields of the tournament that has given them so good results so far.

After reaching the semi-final in the last edition, B1 wants to repeat this success and has already set its sights on the desired final. Last year, bad luck in the penalty shootout meant that the team could not play the final that would have faced Athletic Club de Bilbao.

Fourth time for the B1 Youth Team

As usual, the team led by Marc Fortuny and Eric Bertran is presented one more year at the MIC to give us something to talk about. And now that the group rivals are already known, players and coaches are more motivated than ever to return to the tournament and go as far as possible.

In this new edition of the MIC, the team will participate in the U19 category and has been drawn in Group G, thus being measured against the Hungarian team of Újbuda FC, the Danish team, Roskilde Boldklub, and the Catalan team, Juventus Academy Lloret de Mar.

“It’s not an easy group. It’s true that we don’t have any professional top seeds like FC Barcelona, Valencia CF or Villarreal who are in other groups. Now our goal is to finish first in the groups, to go as far as possible.”

New category for B1, U15

In this new edition and with an eye on the development of young talent, B1 has decided to take a first-year cadet category team to measure the level and try to emulate the same path it achieved in the 2019 edition.

For the U15 category, the B1 team was head of the group, and the draw took us to Group H we will face the American set of Legends FC, the French AS Meudon, and the team from Barcelona, Sarrià CP.

We are happy with the groups and we are looking forward to the dates as soon as possible to be able to compete and enjoy such an incredible event as the MIC203. Let’s go B1!
