Not so long ago, we had to part ways with our beloved Edgar Garcia who decided to make his way into the professional world of football. A farewell that leaves a good taste in our mouths, for the work and dedication that Edgar has always shown in pursuing his goals.
He has been training intensively for the past month hoping to get an opportunity that would fit his ambitions. And yes, after hard work and commitment, we are pleased to announce that the young talent has finally got his opportunity.
Indeed, Edgar just signed a professional contract with Inter de Querétaro FC, a professional football club playing in Liga Premier!
We are all very proud at B1 because we know how much Edgar worked for this moment.
If you wonder how Edgar got into contact with his new club, it’s his agent Victor Muller who was responsible for putting both ends into contact and foreseeing a possible future together.
After an apparent interest in Edgar’s background, Inter de Querétaro accepted to give him a chance and invited him to participate in their annual trials. During the trial, Edgar describes himself to be calm and confident about himself. He just played “his football”.
Weeks before the trial, Edgar was getting ready physically and mentally with personal training sessions, adapting some basics in order to shine in Mexican soccer knowing that it is different, with more contact and more physical than Spanish soccer.
The young talent added that his time at B1 helped him react and act much quicker than what players in Mexico are used to:
“What helped me most was playing in Barcelona with B1, the amount of pace there on the field was incredible and once I came here to Mexico the game was slower so I am able to be one step ahead most of the time, I am very grateful to B1.”
With his new teammates and changed coaching staff, Edgar will be training every morning from Monday to Friday. He already has a good feeling about his team, as they all “have the same mindset, win and be the best” describes Edgar. Everyone helps and cares about each other, and the coaches are offering priceless advice that will help Edgar become a better professional.
Furthermore, the young talent’s new contract will last a year, until March 2023. Edgar is realizing how amazing this opportunity is for him, especially after the long and hard process to get there. Now, he’s thinking about the present with this new team but also about the future because Edgar dreams bigger!
Step after step, Edgar would like to end up in the Liga Expansion from next year, and become one of the top players in the Mexican First Division! For now, he can’t wait to play with his new team, which he thinks is much stronger compared to last year.
For now, we send our congratulations to you Edgar, and we will be watching you from close up!
