The past Wednesday, July 3rd, our general manager, Didi Rodriguez and our CMO, Eric Bertran went to San Sebastián to enjoy of the 27th edition of the Donosti Cup.
During 3 days, they visited different sports facilities, they were able to see more than 15 games, more than 20 teams and, above all, they were able to talk and exchange ideas with some of the responsible people of clubs and academies around the world. The world of soccer is like that and we really love it!
Besides, the visit of B1 Soccer Academy to Donosti, it also had a host. Todd Stauber, Director, and co-owner of European Soccer Solutions hosting Didi Rodriguez and Eric Bertran to make them part of the tournament’s experience. ESS, is a sports partner of B1 Soccer Academy and it counts with their headquarters in the same city of San Sebastián and also in Washington with multiple connections throughout the United States and Canada.
With extensive experience, they have specialized in offering exclusive stays at Donosti and the participation in one of the best international tournaments. In this year’s edition of the Donosti Cup, they have managed to register 10 teams for the tournament. A fact that highlights the quality of the service.
It was an honor to be able to count with a host such as Todd, and pleasure not only to corroborate the agreement in between both companies but also seal such agreement with a gift for the members’ fo the staff.
International tournament of reference
In this new edition of the Donosti Cup, celebrated from the 1st to the 7th of July, participated 623 teams coming from 33 countries of the five continents. At the world level, is the fourth biggest tournament, behind of the organized competitions in the Nordic countries (Gothia Cup, Norway Cup, and Helsinki Cup).
623 teams, 5.200 players accompanied by 1400 families. 310 daily games disputed in all the province of Guipuzcoana, Without a doubt, these data demonstrate the growth of the Donosti Cup year by year. This year have debuted countries like Zambia, Nepal, Honduras, Costa Rica and Panama. To highlight the Honolulu Bulls of Hawaii, that will be one of the teams that will travel the most kilometers to be able to get to the city.
Besides, is a year in which female soccer has caused much sensation with the debut of the team of the Real Sociedad in Anoeta, besides the level that it is showing in the whole Spanish territory, the Donasti Cup continues its bet with the female sport and the quality.
Teams such as the Olympique de Lyon have participated, winners of the Champions League of the present edition; or the Manchester City, semifinalists of the maximum female competition. We must not forget the Atlético de Madrid, current champions of the Iberdrola League.
Unique experience at the Donosti
Pese a no haber podido disfrutar de toda la semana de torneo, el staff de B1 Soccer Academy si que pudo conocer de cerca la organización de la Donosti Cup, y sobre todo valorar la opción de trabajar junto a European Soccer Solutions para la captación de nuevos equipos para la edición de 2019.
In spite of not been able to enjoy the whole week on the tournament, the staff of B1 Soccer Academy was able to know to close up the organization of the Donosti Cup, and above all to value the option to work side by side European Soccer Solutions for the uptake of new teams for the 2019 edition.
Didi Rodriguez declared: “It has been a pleasant surprise to find this level of soccer in a tournament like the Donosti Cup. In our Academy, we are always looking for better options for our players and the Donosti Cup is, without a doubt, a reference tournament at international level”.
