Group round U19 B1 Team

U19 landed in the Mediterranean International Cup, coached by Didi Rodríguez and Eric Bertrán, looking for the qualification!

The atmosphere was very lively, people crowed and cheered and our B1 U19 team was ready to jump into the pitch.

Wednesday 17 at 17:00 in Cassà de la Selva was celebrated our first match of the tournament in this category against the Academy from the UK, Elite Union Academy.

During the match, we showed a strong attack, where both Oussame Chit and Gerard Ruiz stood out, leading the team to dangerous attacking moves.

In one of these plays, the central defenders committed a penalty on the B1 striker, Oussame, who without hesitation asked to throw from 11 meters. And with a shot of “Panenka”, he managed to add the first goal of the team in this edition of MIC.

In the second half, the players of B1 took the time of the match and the team of Liverpool hardly worried about the goal of Sergio Alfaro.

Didi’s players, sentenced the game after a GOLAZO from the field itself, when after a rejection of the defense of Elite Union Academy, Alfaro ran to almost midfield to shoot.

The intention of the ball surprised the goalkeeper and made Sergio score one of those impossible goals. The match ended 2-0 thanks to the incredible teamwork!

“It is important to add the first three points to face the following group matches.”

Road to the final phase

After resting, Thursday 18 was decisive for the qualifications, so all the players were really concentrated on their job. Second chance to get another 3 points was against FC Locomotiv Tibilisi in Vidreres, Girona.

The Georgians came from a 5-0 win over CE Banyoles and the match didn’t seem easy at all.

In the first minutes of the match, both teams were trying to control the match. Until in the 10th minute, Tsiblisi’s team went ahead on the scoreboard after an error in a set piece.

In addition to the goal, in minute 7 we also suffered an injury to our right-back, Serbian Danilo Duric. 10 minutes later and after different approaches to goal, Oussame tied the game with a great goal after personal play.

And just 1 minute after the first half, and thanks to a play initiated by Japanese player Kein Suzuki, a magnificent dribble on the box of Gerard Ruiz and an amazing definition of Oussame, B1 Team got 1 to 2 on the scoreboard.

In the second half, B1’s dominance of the game was superior and after a combination play, Gerard Ruiz was able to score his first goal leaving the result at 1 to 3.

The match remained intense until the end, and even the set of Georgia could shorten the distance in the 47th minute.

Final whistle and maximum joy for B1. Difficult match but showing strength, power, and control we got another three points.

With these results, we were in the position to dream about being the first of our group for the qualifications, which is an absolute success!

First of the group

And this time came in the afternoon against Club Esportiu Banyoles in Santa Coloma de Farners. The match worked out well, creating many opportunities and massive openings in our rival defense.

“We’ve rested some important players because we know the crossing will be difficult and we want to have all the players rested and 200%. We can beat anyone!”

Winning 3 games in a row we go flying to the next round full of energy and good vibes.

We could not imagine a better beginning of the championship than this one. Congratulations to every player and B1 staff for this amazing job. Unforgettable memories!!!
