The 2019 UEFA Women’s Champions League Final will take place next 18 May in Budapest, Hungary between Lyon and FC Barcelona!

FC Barcelona beat Bayern Munich women’s team to become the first time they will be in the final and make history! Sunday 28 April happened again; attendance record in the Mini Estadi for a women’s home match.

A penalty from FC Barcelona at the added time of the first half sent this team to the final, although Bayern also got their chances. The german’s stepped forward in the last minutes but left spaces back. But in the end, a stoic defense of FC Barcelona made possible to buy a ticket to the greatest challenge of their history.

On the other side, it won’t be easy to beat Lyon. The French team has made an amazing competition and after winning against Chelsea at the semifinal, Lyon will line up for their fourth consecutive Champions League Final.

They have reached the final of this competition seven times in the last decade, so the show is assured with those two bright teams.

Some of the key players for the final could be Ada Hegerberg (Lyon), the Norwegian forward and the first winner of the women’s Ballon d’Or in 2018; Wendie Renard (Lyon), a defender with a record 81 all-time competition appearances; Lieke Martens, one of the stars of FC Barcelona and of the Netherlands’ home UEFA Women’s EURO 2017 and Marta Torrejón, an experienced defender from FC Barcelona.
