Last friendly match of B1

Last Wednesday, June 2, B1 Soccer Academy played the last friendly game of the 2020/21 season at the Municipal de la Trinitat Vella against the team coached by Don Miguel, Cosecha Mundial FC. Farewell game for some of the players, but a nice memory for all B1 Players.

The B1 team arrived with two draws and a win in the previous match against Albirex Niigata. The sensations were very good.

The day started with preparatory training for the match, as well as a technical talk to finalize all the details of the tactical system and the strategy. After resting during the afternoon, the B1 Players came to the pitch for an hour to finish preparing for the match and to go out connected to the maximum.

After a good warm up, the sensations of the players were very good and although the B1 team had some important casualties, all the players were motivated and ready for the new challenge.

For the match against the Cosecha Mundial team, the team led by B1 Coach Didi Rodriguez took the field with a 5-3-2 formation, different from the usual 4-3-3 formation. This system is very fashionable in modern elite soccer, winning teams like FC Barcelona and Chelsea FC use it. The starting eleven chosen by our B1 Coaches was:

Zac, Diego, Sergio, Simone, Dani, Edgar, David, Ashham, Justan, Leo and Peter.

Tight match

The match started with Cosecha Mundial FC controlling possession, but without clear chances due to the effective and solid defense of B1. B1’s quick counterattacks created problems for the rival defense.

During the first minutes of the match, the teams showed great intensity and competitiveness. After good attacking exchanges with good plays in both areas, the first goal of the match came for the home team after a rebound inside the box, putting 1-0 on the scoreboard in the 22nd minute.

Excitement and good play became the protagonists of the match. Attacks on the flanks, crosses into the area, long balls looking for the defenders’ backs and a lot of intensity in the middle of the field.

This intensity and speed caused that in the 43rd minute, the B1 Player Miraash, who replaced David Polevoy due to injury, after a great individual play, which started from the midfield, scored the equalizer. The score was 1-1 at halftime and everything was still to be decided.

45 minutes of changes

The second half began with the same intensity that had ended the first 45 minutes; the scoreboard did not move until the 60th minute. A controversial play and a great free-kick goal gave Cosecha Mundial the advantage.

Due to the high demand of the game, some B1 Players suffered cramps and discomfort, which decimated the solidity of the team led by Didi Rodriguez, who had to manage changes and readapt players in different positions to continue competing.

Two more goals were added to the scoreboard for the Cosecha Mundial team, leaving the final score at 4-1. We want to highlight the good role of all players, who were up to the demand of a rival with a high pace of competition.

Also, special mention to both goalkeepers, leaving great interventions throughout the game, and in particular to our American goalkeeper Zac del Favero who played his last minutes as a B1 player.

We can only say goodbye to the season congratulating each member of the B1 team, we hope you have a happy holiday season, and we will see you soon!
