Extremely positive performance, good vibes, and tense games in the last phase of the MIC Consolation Cup for B1 U16 team!
The fact that U16 could not make it to the next round didn’t mean the tournament was over. The consolation round was waiting for them with tight affairs, penalty shootouts, and more surprises. A pretty similar situation to last year’s edition with the U19team, when Didi’s team managed to reach the Consolation Final.
The first match of the consolation round for U16 team was against NT Terres de L’Ebre Nord. A really tight match that was ended in a draw 1-1 and a Penalty shootout was needed to decide the match. Almost 20 penalties were thrown. And the result has been 10 to 9 in our favor.
For the round of 16, CE Cabrils was waiting for us in the Llagostera field. On this occasion, Xander overtook B1 with a goal in the 17th minute. And although it seemed that Victor’s team would take the victory and pass to the quarterfinals, in the 50th minute, Cabrils’ team got the draw. Again to penalties.
Our goalkeeper could not have done it better with his amazing performance that saved the team. It was a match full of nerves and tense but it worthed it. Amazing Donghai!!!
Last match of MIC
The last match, but not least, was against Unió Esportiva Fornells. Both teams started well and the U-16 team enjoyed several occasions, but finally and after some errors due to fatigue and lack of concentration, Fornells managed to beat the B1 goalkeeper on two occasions, leaving the score 2 to 0.
Anyway, there is nothing else to object about the job of those players on the pitch and we are sure that if they keep pushing hard they will get their dreams. Few players have the talent our squad has!
We can just congrats the whole U16 team, accompany with Victor and Jaume as their coaches, for this extraordinary competition. We will always keep the nice memories and moments that we shared together at MIC!
